Of Scarecrows and Soccerballs . . .

This year I got to be Derek's soccer coach. They must have been completely desperate to have someone like me do it, because I know so little about soccer. Luckily, Andy was there to guide me and over the course of the season, our little team improved quite a bit! Derek was the soccer maniac and LOVED to score goals. He scored five goals in one game! The difference between a four-year-old soccer player and a five-year-old soccer player is amazing. Still, we got in some good laughs and had fun doing it. Tucker was our official "Junior Member." We were the Panthers and everybody's favorite part was snack time and when we did our team cheer. Octopus tag was a hit as well.

After soccer was done, we all battled with different illnesses. Tucker was sick for almost the entire month of October. He is well now and hopefully will not miss any more school or church! We made some scarecrows that the boys were immensely proud of.

Here is the finished product. In nice weather, we like to sit outside on our extremely large front porch and read stories, so the boys wanted the scarecrows to sit there in memory of warmer days. We had fun and hope for more fun tomorrow trick-or-treating!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

You're such a good mommy - being a soccer coach and making scarecrows with your kiddos! I totally agree there is a huge difference between 4 and 5 year old soccer players! We put Max in as a 3 year old and it was pretty much a disaster. So hopefully it will be better in the next year or two. Happy Halloween!
